Noticed all the outdoor seating was taken. Strange nobody was sitting inside. After I went inside to look over the menu I felt why. Air was hot and still. The ceiling fans 20 feet above rotating slowly didn’t help much. This was during the summer heat wave and the AC was broken.

I chose the special. Fresh locally caught sea bass fish and chips. Crunchy tempura batter gave a delicious fried salty flavor to the mild sea bass.  Flavor was pretty good but I prefer the flavor of the fried sea bass at Sally’s Seafood on the Water. Twice cooked Kennebec fries had a crunchy outside and a delicious flavor. Among the best in San Diego.

Staff was very friendly. I’d come here again if I was in Coronado.

Sally’s Seafood on the Water – I wanted to try Sally’s but everyone on their menu seems quite pricey.

The fried sea bass here at this restaurant looks huge. Is that ONE big fried piece?

Gosh, a no a/c restaurant right now would be brutal in this heat wave. We went to the Taste of Old Town yesterday and omg. 13 out of 13 places felt like there was no a/c.

Sally’s price for fried sea bass was $19 for lunch. I think it’s a fair price for fresh sea bass. Did you take a look at the lunch menu? Prices are lower than the dinner menu.

    It was one huge piece.

It was brutal. I soaked a towel in cold water and kept wiping the sweat off. Should have waited till an outside table came available. *sigh

You are a real trouper doing Taste of Old Town. I’ll keep my eyes open for the post!

Yum, not many restaurants serve Seabass. That is my favorite!
