Pollo A La Brasa – Gardena, CA

pollo.a.la.brasa.4151Smoke fills the air.  I know I’m at the right place.

pollo.a.la.brasa.4150Wood is stacked by the side of the restaurant.  I order a whole chicken with fries.  pollo.a.la.brasa.4137Under $20 with 2 sides.  🙂

Aroma from the smoke seeps from the meat.  Thin layer of skin cannot restrain it.  Spices are coated on the skin and the flavors mix with the smoke.

Whole chicken.

Whole chicken.

Chicken is tender, juicy, and has delicious flavor.  The sign outside makes me think of El Pollo Loco Chicken but their chicken lacks a smoky aroma and flavor.

pollo.a.la.brasa.4156Love the flavor of the french fries here.  I suspect they are fresh as they are full of potato flavor and I have not had fries that taste like these.  Service was fast and friendly.  I can’t resist coming here for chicken any time I’m in the area.

Wish they would open a branch closer to San Diego!

I like El Pollo Loco when they serve the chicken right off the grill to you. The chicken here at Brasa looks delicious. Have you ever had chicken that was smoked ‘*too* long? I had duck recently where it tasted too much of ‘smoke’.

At La Brasa they serve you chicken right out of the rotisserie. 🙂 No. I have had ribs that were smoked too long and they were dry. Where did you get duck that was smoked too long?
