Cold is the evening
Music brightens the darkness
Party ends with song.
Night is cold. Enclosed patio and heat lamps keep frostbite at bay. Saturday nights there is live music. The guitarist is playing Eagles songs I like.
Sunshine, gentle breeze, nice temperature, humans bringing you food….what more could a duck ask for? The ducks do their happy quack and fluffy rear end wiggle, you know the one. A pair of geese swim by eyeing us for possible food donations.
Mr. Bernstein: A fellow will remember a lot of things you wouldn’t think he’d remember. You take me. One day, back in 1896, I was crossing over to Jersey on the ferry, and as we pulled out, there was another ferry pulling in, and on it there was a girl waiting to get off. A white dress she had on. She was carrying a white parasol. I only saw her for one second. She didn’t see me at all, but I’ll bet a month hasn’t gone by since that I haven’t thought of that girl.
Orson Welles – Citizen Kane
Back when I was a 1st grader I lived blocks away on Herman Av. Mom was at work all the time and the streets were mine after school. After 5pm I collected discarded soda bottles from construction sites. They were tearing down old Craftsman homes and building cheap apartments. When I found 3 12oz bottles I could get a Hires Root Beer in a 12oz glass bottle. Those were the days. Good thing Grand ole BBQ was not around back. I’d have to collect a lot of bottles to buy a rack of bbq ribs.
An animal knows what it is, and accepts it. A man may know what he is — but he questions. He dreams. He strives. Changes. Grows.”
Chris Claremont – Wolverine
Her skin is bright orange glinting in the sun. Her scent as you brush against her firm skin sweet like an orange. She opened up to me and I tasted her delicious juices. Flavor was of strawberries and a hint of orange. She left me wanting more. I hoped to see her again but her appearances are rare as a rainbow. But she is here now next to a sign at the farmer’s market: Strawberry Oranges. Some genius crossbred two of my fav fruits. 🙂
Music has always been in my life in one form or another. The most moving pieces I’ve found originate from the great classical music masters such as; Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and Tchaikovsky to name a few. My favorite instrument is the piano, probably because my Mother plays quite well.
So as you can imagine I was very interested in the progression of musical instruments detailed in this museum. It does not disappoint!
