Blondie: You see, in this world there’s two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly
I first became a gunslinger when I was in pre-school and I got my first six shooter. When the apartment got a new washer I acquired the big cardboard box and I got my first western fort. I cut a whole in the box so I could stick my gun out and shoot at enemies.
I was excited to see the sign for Pioneertown. Fine desert sand crunched beneath me. I imagine spurs digging into the dusty ground in days past. Mini sand storms swirled about me. The fine grains of sand get everywhere. Sun was high in the sky and I sought shade beneath old weathered wooden structures.
I found an operation Post Office and the famed O.K. Corral where many a gunfighter met his violent end.
There were many shops that were open where you could buy a memento of the old days.
People on horseback rode through town.
Met Rick Russell who invited us into his home. Was awesome seeing the inside of a Pioneertown home. Structure was constructed mostly of old weathered wood. One room home was small. Perfect for a bachelor pad. He was a gracious host and showed us a pilot of his reality tv show Pioneertown the Series. His birds and dog were quite friendly.
Was awesome seeing how the gunslingers of old lived. It has hot and dry and I headed over to Pappy and Harriet’s for a cold drink and hot steak grilled over a wood fire.
