Years ago I was discovered smoked dry rub ribs in North Carolina. In the time since I have been searching for ribs to tempt me with smoky aroma and delicious dry rub leaving me wanting more.
My quest has led me to Virgil’s in New York. Scent of smoke and bbq sauce greets me. I love how this place is decorated.
Bbq memorabilia is everywhere.
Neon signs light up the bar area.
Chicken had deep rich smoked flavor. Tender and juicy.
Ribs had a rich smoky flavor. Dry rub had sweetness and a some spice. Bark was awesome. My fav meat here.
Pulled pork was tender and juicy and had good flavor from the sweet and tangy bbq sauce.
Beef brisket was tender, juicy, and had a nice bark.
Fried catfish was coated in a thin corn meal batter which gave a nice mild flavor which didn’t hide the delicious catfish flavor. Fries were full of fried potato goodness.
Banana pudding had lots of bananas and bits of Nilla wafers mixed in. Full of banana flavor.
Wish Virgil’s was in San Diego. Then I could eat the awesome bbq here all the time…
