Just like those little Viewmaster slides, there’s a inherent magic that’s captured in 3D that you can’t get in drawn animation or in CG.

There are things captured in my memory that persist to this day. My first Viewmaster with images of the San Diego Zoo back in the early days. My first taste of chow mein from Woo Choo Chong when I was 4. The big fat noodles had a delicious mild flavor enhanced by the smoky wok flavor and the cabbage and chicken. How I looked forward to our shopping trips there…
The bbq pork lo mien at Mandarin Canton reminds me of that first chow mein. The bbq pork was delicious, lean and tender. The fat noodles have a mild flavor and a hint of a smoky wok.
The salt and pepper fried chicken wings were very crunchy and portion size was huge. Flavor like Golden Chopsticks but not as strong. I think they are a bit stingy with the msg. Also the wings were a bit on the dry side.
Fried rice included with the entree didn’t have meat or tasty flavors. There was some odd flavor I couldn’t place. Note I usually don’t like the free fried rice that comes with combo meals as they generally don’t have meat to give it flavor.
Complimentary bowl of fried noodles was crunchy with delicious fried flavor.
Food here is solid but missing the magic.

Love the picture of the sun peeking through the clouds. You’ll have to get more of the barbecue pork lo mein!
Thanks! We will have to share the lo mein next time!
I think the Salt and Pepper Wings were better under the previous owner. They still have a better crunch than Golden Chopsticks. Decent ABCD food.
In case you were wondering what happened to the previous owner:

Thanks for the info Kirk! Wish I could have tried the wings back in the old days.
That’s a generous plate of chicken wings! Yeah I kinda like msg on wings too.
I can’t believe how cheap the lunch specials are.
If you are in the area give them a try! The bbq pork lo mein is my fav dish so far.
