Cold, sweet, intense flavors unlike any other to give me a short respite from the summer heat. I was hoping luck was with me as I clicked RSVP for the Yelp event at An’s Dry Cleaning where you can’t get your clothes clean but you can find heavenly gelato. I purchased a pint of Melton over a month ago and it did not last long in these hot summer days.
Our adventure began with a palate cleanser which tasted like grapefruit sorbet. Very tart and icy.
Linen had a strong pineapple flavor with a moderate amount of basil.
Plush was my favorite flavor of the afternoon and had strong watermelon flavor with mint moderating the sweetness.
Melton was a blend of mango and peach with a bit more mango than peach flavor.
Garbadine was like eating a chocolate banana. This experience was much more civilized than trying to bite through a frozen banana.
Lycra was a little orange blossom and lots of kiwi flavor.
Lemon lavender had lots of lemon flavor with a hint of lavender. This was a Yelp exclusive and not named yet.
I lived nearby in East San Diego when I was a kid. It’s nice An’s Dry Cleaning has retained the historical look of the neighborhood I remember. I love visiting for the unique blend of flavors and wonderful hospitality. Thanks Brad and Estefany for hosting this cool event and to the owners and staff of An’s for having us. I feel cool and refreshed on this summer day.

They sure knock it out of the park with unique flavor combinations! Oh no, I did the dreaded half blink! Will have to visit here often.
