Walking through the Guadalupe business district feels like walking through a history museum. It’s about 11 blocks along Highway 1.
Brick buildings weathered by the sun stand in stark beauty as modern cars whiz by once every few minutes.
I love the 1 and 2 story historic buildings that look like scenes from a 1950’s movie.
The Royal Theater opened in 1939 and shown it’s last movie in the 1990’s.
Guadalupe is a farming city established in 1840.
I found a strawberry field a block away from Highway 1.
A water truck was watering the dirt road next to it keeping the dust down.
It’s been quiet the times I’ve visited but there are over 7,000 residents.
Walking past the mostly empty buildings I found Brother’s Mexican Grill.
There was no line.
I ordered some tacos.
Flour tortillas had a nice mild flavor.
Carnitas was lean, tender, and had a nice pork flavor. Carne asada was tender and had a nice marinated beef flavor. Al pastor taco was tender, juicy, and had a little bit of spice to the pork.
The three tacos were all pretty good but I liked the carnitas taco the best.
I like how The Brothers decorated and the employees were nice and efficient.
Night is coming. Wish that old movie theater was open.

Just loved the interior decorations and vibrant colors! The close proximity of the farms to the town makes it seem more like home. Can’t wait for our next visit!
You sure love the pizza place!
