Saturday 10am. It’s opening time and there is a huge line. Luckily most of the line was in the shade so while it was hot and humid you won’t get sunburned.
My friend Steve saved a spot a third of the way up the line and in a little over 90 minutes I put my order in and the process was quite speedy afterwards.
Staff was quite nice.
I ordered half a bird country style and a waffle. Waffle was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and had a delicious sweet flavor. One of the best waffles I’ve tried. Fried chicken had crunchy and delicious batter. Chicken was juicy and full of flavor. Taste a bit like Honey’s Kettle fried chicken but without the honey component. Krinkle cut fries were crunchy and had a tasty potato flavor.

My friend’s boyfriend worked here for a bit I think! I can’t believe the long line. I heard people get there at dawn. I want to see pic of the waffle 🙁
So the chicken wasn’t served on top of it? I would have ordered everything on the menu if I had to stand in line that long.
Nice! Did he get lots of free food? I didn’t get a picture of the waffle. It was Maggie’s and I didn’t plan on eating part of it. You can order a chicken and waffle combo but I just ordered half a chicken with a waffle on the side. You are wise. Next time I’ll order some stuff to go.
I can’t remember if he got free food. I’m surprised you didn’t bring your infamous cooler to bring some chicken back home. I wonder if the fried chicken here re heats well? I’d be super curious about their chicken wings.
I did bring my infamous cooler. Later in the day I visited Fosselman’s ice cream and purchased 8 half gallons of ice cream. I couldn’t put chicken in there as it would freeze and I’d have less room for ice cream.
Next time I’d have 2 bring 2 coolers. One for frozen food and one for non-frozen food.
I had a chicken wing in my order of a half chicken. It tasted great! 🙂
