Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa / Part one

Bet these grapes will be delicious when they ripen!

It turned out to be an excellent idea to tag along with the small group enjoying the docent tour. Starts at 1:15 on most days. Our guide, Mary Francis, was extremely knowledgeable about the history of this mission including the story of the bells, the origins of each statue inside the church and so much more. Wouldn’t want to spoil all the cool stuff we learned on the tour, so you’ll just have to go!

Very peaceful place to rest and enjoy the gardens.

The Mission Bells are rung each day at Noon and 6:00 PM, and for mass, weddings, funerals, New Years, Quinceanera and Hanukkah. To hear the Mission bells ring, click here.

Just love the humming bird, dove and flower patterns.

Mission museum. These bells can still be seen from the freeway today. The shepherds crook makes them stand out.

The gift shop showcases many talented artists. If your looking for a unique gift or a beautiful rosary, this is the place.
