Santa Barbara Botanic Garden / Part one

How doth the little busy bee
Improve each shining hour,
And gather honey all the day
From every shining flower!

Trees speak to us in so many subtle ways. The gentle sway of the branches, the sound of the wind moving through the trees, peaceful silence surrounds each tree and all who get close. Reach out to touch a tree and you’ll feel it’s energy flow through you. Sit close enough to a grove of trees, close your eyes and be transformed. One of my favorite things to do.

How skilfully she builds her cell!
How neat she spreads the wax!
And labours hard to store it well
With the sweet food she makes.

Oh flower oh flower, slowly opening it’s treasure, pointing upwards towards the sun, won’t you humor me with a smile, of vivid colors, deeply showing the world your inner beauty, layered with love.

I found these flowers fascinating. The milky white part eventually becomes yellow.

The sun is your God, The moon is your Mother, Bless me with your beauty.

Your cup runneth over with sunlight, the bees visit during the day, The wind is your friend.

This was taken at a resting bench. The tree branches are just incredibly long.

Wild winds’ whirling clusters
whispered a while
perching on my leaves
and raced towards horizons
chasing sky,
chicks hatched on my branches
grew wings and flew out
carrying tiny lives,
travelers who arrived
passed out from exhaustion
but they came round under my shade
and carried themselves away.

I just love to take pictures of trees from different angles. Especially from the ground looking up. The best way for me to do this is to lay down at the foot of the tree, get comfy, then take my time looking through the lens.

I hope you enjoy this botanical garden as much as I do. A great place for a walk with nature to escape your everyday routine.
