SNOICE

Well they sure know how to lay out the red carpet! Each vendor, artist and performer that attended got a chance to showcase their collective talents and wow the audience. Before I get into each experience just let me say it’s going to be a phenomenal event (on November 24th, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at; Penn Athletic Field 2555 Dusk Dr. San Diego, CA. 92139) and I definitely recommend attending. You could get some holiday and Christmas shopping done while experiencing new cuisine and delightful entertainment.

Had an interesting conversation with the photographer Carisa about how she chooses the colors for each person in the pictures above & below.

Keeping alive the personal art form of handwritten letters and greeting cards.

This is by no means a complete list of vendors and artists, just a preview. Attending this event will be approximately 37 food vendors, 17 performers, 18 retailers, 12 artists, 10 handmade crafts, including local service and non profit booths. You can feel good knowing your supporting your local community by attending.

Sarap, delicious cookies individually packaged.

This one was tied with Ube for my favorite cookie.

Each cookie has chocolate chips carefully placed on top for optimum distribution. Gotta love that!

Each cookie flavor is super moist and delicious.

Over the years I have had some great food in Paradise Hills.  My favorite spot for fried chicken was Huffman’s BBQ.  Sadly they have been closed for some time.  Now many new spots have risen up.  We were invited to the Paradise Hills Night Market Media Preview to sample these up and comers.
Kalei’s

Kalei’s Kitchenette served fried chicken wings.  Crunchy batter contrasted the tender moist chicken.  Seasoning in the batter gave then fried chicken nice savory flavor.  Loved the guava bbq sauce which was a bit sweet and a bit tangy with a hint of guava.

Sarap Asian Fusion brought cookies!
Miso Milo chocolate taste like a soft chocolate chip cookie with a hint of miso.
Matcha chocolate taste like a matcha tea flavored chocolate chip cookie.
Black sesame white chocolate taste like a white chocolate chip cookie with black sesame added.
Ube cookies and cream taste like a ube cookie with unique chocolate chips.
I liked how each cookie had a unique spin.
Po’s
Po’s
Po’s Cambodia Street Food had grilled meat on skewers.  I enjoyed the flavor of the lemongrass flavored meats.
Popo Bros
PoPo Bros served Rain Drop Cake which was highlighted by a clear jelly which had a light sweet flavor.
They also had a Strawberry Mint Julep with a combination of tea, strawberry and mint flavor.  I loved this drink and had 3 of them.
sweetstruck
sweetstruck brought an assortment of cakes.  Red Velvet was fluffy and moist with red velvet flavor.  Salted caramel had a rich chocolate flavor and bursting with sweetness.  I was impressed by the fresh bold flavors of these cakes.

  1. Ommggggg. The chicken wings! A whole mound of chicken wings!! Guava bbq sauce sounds interesting. So they only offer catering?

The boba candles are interesting. Not sure how you’d smell the boba balls if they’re on the very bottom.

    1. Kalei’s Kitchenette appears at Farmer’s Markets weekly in addition to catering.
Every Tuesday at; Otay Ranch Farmers Market 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Every Thursday at; Sony Electronics Rancho Bernardo 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Every Friday at; Imperial Beach Farmer’s Market, Winter (October thru March) 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM Summer, (April thru September) 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The Tapiocandle maker was kind enough to explain about the boba. While the candle is burning and the wax starts to melt the boba rises to the top and releases it’s scent.
