I think I watched all the episodes of The Flintstone’s when I was a kid. It was cool seeing humans and dinosaurs in hilarious adventures. I was surprised to see Fred’s Diner on the way to the Grand Canyon.
Parking lot had Flintstone artifacts for photo opportunities. It was pretty desolate. Lots of open space and only a few cars.
Paint was fading on the artifacts. On the other side of the parking lot was a grocery store and an RV park.
Inside Fred’s Diner was a small diner and gift shop.
The gift shop was a contrast with the shiny new Flintstones merchandise and Indian items.
I left with a Flintstone’s t-shirt.
There was a Flintstone’s theme park behind the diner.
I would have visited if my kid was with me. I expect the theme park to be weathered and neglected as with what I have seen inside and out.
Perhaps this place is an allegory to a prehistoric age from which we are only left with the bones.

I’m sure this place was better cared for when it was new. Too bad they have let it run down. New paint, cleaning, dusting would help for starters. It was fun taking pictures of Fred and Wilma. :>)
We can go inside next time!
Haha I think we took a few pics outside when we passed this a few years ago. It is sitting out in the hot AZ sun and I guess they haven’t repainted lately! I like your closing line though =P
Thanks Lynn! They had a good t shirt selection. 🙂
