I’ve written about this place back in 2016, about the closing of their San Diego Bay restaurant. Now the only place to visit is in La Mesa. Such a beautiful location complete with a large pond including water features out back. Outdoor seating is right along the shoreline including umbrella’s, heaters, small dog play area and games to play.
Indoors feature beautiful mosaic murals, with walls designed to look as if your scuba diving among a coral reef. This visit I finally got some pictures of those murals, quite lovely.
This is my go to place for all things Anthony. They specialize in quite a few seafood dishes I’ve yet to experience the same way anywhere else.
The tasting paddle is such a great idea for us undecided people. It is hard to pick just one beer anymore as the choices are so vast. This way I get to try out four different beers. Each one was good however I did lean towards the Helix Brewing RNA red ale, loved the malty notes and the Alesmith 394 Tony Gywnn pale, appreciated the citrus intertwined.
I really enjoyed my food. The potato was cooked to perfection with sour cream, butter and chives making it super delicious. The salmon was tender and the lemon sauce paired very nicely with it. The crab cakes combination of spices make a pleasant flavor I’ve only found here. The shrimp was juicy and went well with my potato.
My other favorites here include their signature cole slaw with pineapple and their famous Mama Ghio’s clam chowder. I prefer the red. It’s always hard for me to decide what to order.
Just love the combination of shrimp, crab and salmon paired with louie dressing. Very fresh seafood is a staple here. Next visit I’m getting the red clam chowder for sure.
Awesome photos! You did a great job capturing the lovely murals and water features.
Thanks honey!
