Atlas Market has a good amount of exotic foods but it’s the ice cream that interested me. There are many flavors I have not seen before.
Rose ice.
I love rose flavored tea so I was excited to try Rose ice. Opening the container I was greeted by an abundance of ice crystals. This is common when ice cream is stored too long. I’m guessing Atlas Market doesn’t sell much of this stuff. Another interesting thing was the rice noodles mixed into the Rose ice. Flavor was a bit like sweet rice cakes I get when I go out for dim sum. After getting past the ice crystals I did enjoy the sweet rose flavor. I doubt I’d buy Rose ice again as I’m paying premium prices for a product that isn’t fresh. I would be interested if I could buy to fresh Rose ice from the source.
Rose ice cream.
Like the Rose ice the ice cream was full of ice crystals and was not fresh. Texture wasn’t uniform as parts were harder than others. I suspect this was also due to being stored too long. I did like the sweet rose and cream flavor where they weren’t any ice crystals. I would be interested in trying this again if I could buy a fresh quart directly from the source.
Atlas Market should take a page from Sprouts playbook and have a great sale every month or 2 on their ice cream so they can sell all their old product and rotate in some fresh ice cream. I have a feeling the ice cream/ice is delicious when fresh.

Too bad it had ice crystals. Good thing you have other places to purchase your rose ice cream.
Actually I’ve only seen rose ice cream at one other place in town.
