Birthday at Denny’s – Miramar Rd.

I visit Denny’s each year on my birthday for my free Grand Slam.

Scrambled eggs were fluffy and fresh.  Bacon was crispy and savory.  Sausage had mostly savory flavor with a hint of sweetness.  Service was good.  This is a solid place to get a value priced meal.  Better than a buffet and I don’t have to cleanup afterwards.

I also tried the banana split.  Ice cream had rich strawberry and vanilla flavor.  Tasted like Thrifty’s.  Very fancy with whipped cream, peanuts, caramel, and strawberry toppings.

This year my present to myself was my pc’s first NVMe drive the Samsung 970 EVO Plus which replaced an old Samsung 950 SATA drive.  The 970 EVO Plus was tested one of the fastest SSD drives you can buy so I was expecting a dramatic speed increase as the drive is the slowest part of the computer.    Installation of the new drive was tricky as a special screw and standoff was required which was not included with the drive but rather the motherboard which I installed in 2015.  After some digging around and a trip to Ace Hardware I was able to install the drive.  New drive is much faster than the old drive and my pc is extremely fast now.

Maggie bought me a grow it yourself sunflower kit.  It came with 3 seeds and it has been fun watching it.  In the beginning there was just dirt then a green shoot rose from the dirt.  Now there are 3 shoots with leaves.  🙂
