This neighborhood was where I was introduced to hickory smoked bbq. Jim’s Hickory Wood Bbq had delicious ribs and cinnamon ice cream. Jim’s is long gone but now Union Bbq has opened.
They smoke their meats in white oak with their big smoker.
Beef ribs are only available Friday – Sunday. I ordered the beef rib special with french fries. Fries were very thin and crunchy with delicious potato flavor. Beef rib was lunch sized, tender, and juicy. I loved the bark which formed from the dry rub which had many pepper corns in it. That plus the smoky flavor made for a really good tasting beef rib.
Rack of pork ribs was fall off the bone tender and the smoky aroma mixed with the slightly sweet dry rub in a delicious flavor combination. Awesome dry rub is a bit like Coop’s Texas bbq. 🙂
Brisket was tender and juicy. Same delicious mix of smoke and dry rub formed an amazing bark.
Pulled pork had a delicious bark from a mix of smoke and dry rub. Pork was tender and tasty mix with a bit of the house sauce which was a little tangy and a little sweet.
Staff was nice and I was impressed by how fast the food came out.
This is an awesome neighborhood for bbq with Corbin’s Q down the street.
Sadly I found out Union BBQ closed at the end of March.

So sad they closed! The pork pictures are making me hungry.
They had some great pork!
They closed? Oh gosh. Prices seemed great too.
I only got to eat there twice. *sigh
