I’m excited as we go on a road trip to Black Bear Bear. I secure my Yeti Cooler so bears don’t get into it.
Lots of Black Bear sightings here.
Inside Black Bear Diner you can get bear souvenirs and buy sauces.
There are lots of choices on the menu.
I tried the chicken pot pie. Looks much like a Marie Callender’s pie with only top crust. Wish there was side and bottom crust as the crust is crunchy and I love the delicious pastry flavor with a bit of buttery goodness.
Chicken is tender, juicy, and full of flavor. I like the carrots, celery, and mushrooms. Gravy has a delicious savory flavor. I like this pie a bit more than Marie Callender’s as I prefer the chicken and gravy here. Onion rings were panko battered and crunchy with a medium onion flavor. Taste much like Red Robin and Jack in the Box rings.
For dessert I tried the huckleberry ice cream. Loved the creamy, sweet huckleberry flavor. One of the best berry flavored ice creams I’ve tried.
After dinner I checked my cooler. Bears didn’t get into it. 🙂
2nd visit. Crunchy. Crunchier than the extra crunchy at KFC. Sweet as honey and a few other spices to excite my taste buds. Hiding underneath the delicious crust the chicken was tender and juicy. You get half a chicken for $15.99. French fries had a bit of crunch and a delicious potato flavor. Broccoli and carrots were steamed and pretty good.
Chicken noodle soup was full of delicious flavor. I wouldn’t mind having seconds as the cup was on the small side. This was a huge meal and I wasn’t able to finish it.
Great post! Wonderful photos and descriptions. We’ve only stopped here for breakfast; I always look at the rest of the menu and now will make more of an effort to wait until lunchtime.
Just love all the Bear wood carvings! The chicken pot pie had delicious gravy.
Black Bear Diner is my new favorite place to get chicken pot pie!

Thanks Cathy! You should go for dinner. According to the menu they only serve chicken pot pie after 4pm.
