International Smoke

International Smoke is dedicated to cooking with fire and smoke.  I breathe deep the scent of smoke as I walked towards the bar.

Modern smoker.
Modern vent system captures most of the smoke.

Back in the old days when I went out for bbq you could smell the smoke driving up to a bbq joint.
View from the bar of the outside seating.

Now I have to content myself with the delicious scent in the dining room.  The price one must pay for living in the city.  International Smoke is recently opened and I admire the modern style.  Everything is so new and shiny.  Staff and management was friendly and provided excellent service.
I visited during the 3-6pm Happy Hour and tried a few dishes.

Smoked in applewood and white oak the pork ribs have a smoky aroma and there is a sweetness from the bark a bit like Chinese style bbq ribs I’ve had.  I chose the American bbq sauce which gave the ribs a bit of sweetness and a bit of spicy flavor.  Pork was very tender and full of flavor.  Happy Hour portion was 3 ribs for $5.

Pork ends sliders were 2 for $5.
I enjoyed flavors from the slightly tangy bbq sauce and the bbq pork was tender with a nice smoky flavor.
Roasted cauliflower was huge and meant for sharing.  Tender with a nice smoky flavor.  Normally I only like cauliflower stir fried but this preparation was delicious.
Complimentary soda water.

  1. So nice of our server to take the pictures of the smoker for you! The cauliflower was my favorite dish of the evening.

    1. My favorite was the ribs. 🙂

  2. That’s awesome you got photos of the smoker and process. I didn’t think you’d like that cauliflower as it has so many toppings. Was it busy when you visited?

    Happy Labor Day weekend !

    1. Faye,
It was a cool smoker! I admit I scraped that stuff off so I could eat just cauliflower. :-). It was busy outside but we got there before dinner so there wasn’t anybody in the dining area.

      Happy Labor Day weekend!

      Soo
