The shortest pathway to get ice cream into my freezer is to get it fresh from Doc Burnstein’s factory. Buying ice cream from the grocery store always fills me with trepidation as you never know when you will get old ice cream that has been sitting around too long and has tons of ice crystals. I look forward to trying a variety of flavors when I go on road trips up the coast. Doc Burnstein rotates their flavors every month so each visit is an adventure.
Mint chip had creamy mint flavored ice cream with very bold flavored dark chocolate chips. The mint and chocolate chips really fired up my taste buds!
Orange sherbet taste like orange juice. Flavor has a mix of sweet and tangy. Like this flavor alot as it’s a nice change from the fake orange flavored sherbet I find at many supermarkets.
Unicorn Swirl tasted like white cake ice cream mixed with pie pieces and strawberries. There is alot going on but I liked the mix of flavors.

Gotta love Doc Bernstein’s! Great pictures of the ice cream!
Thanks! It’s great ice cream!
Did you take those scoop photos all in one sitting! Meaning you tried all those flavors, for the sake of this blog of course, in one day 🙂 I like mint chip but only when it has ton of dark chocolate mixed in. Have you tried Frost in 4s Ranch?
Faye,
I brought home the 4 quarts of ice cream and ate a quart then moved on to the next quart. You get ice crystals if you unseal it and don’t eat it within a week or 2.
I did try Frost. Taste great. Expensive. Out of the way for me. I’d try them again if I was over there.
