Sam Woo has been my go to breakfast spot for years.
I usually get the won ton noodle soup. This time I decided to look over the menu and maybe try something different.
I noticed the breakfast special was now $5.95.
I splurged and ordered Roast Duck Noodle Soup with won tons. Soup was more flavorful than the Won Ton Noodle soup with the additional duck flavor. Sadly the duck was not as flavorful than if you just order a duck. The soup stole some of the duck flavor. Also I didn’t get the best duck pieces as one was the neck bone and one was mostly fat and chewy connective tissue. Pork and shrimp won tons had delicious flavor. Next time I’m sticking with the won ton noodle soup.
BBQ pork pan fried noodles for $12 with tax. Bbq pork is tender and has a nice flavor with hints of sweetness and 5 spice powder flavor. Egg noodles are crunchy with a very light egg flavor. Bok choy was fresh and crunchy. Mushrooms and brown sauce were ok. The plate of noodles makes for a big dinner. There are a few places I like this dish better but not bad.
I also bought a duck to go for $24.
Nice crispy skin and tender duck meat. Light 5 spice powder flavor. Much more flavor if you dip it in the sauce that’s included.
Wait staff are friendly and service is speedy. Prices are lower than the fancier Chinese restaurants in the area and the food is pretty good.
Before I posted the virus hit.
Sadly I’ve been eating breakfast at home lately.
I still look in the window and think about the old days.

The pan fried noodles look delicious!
They were good!
Thank you for this post! I was craving their duck the other day. The Roast Duck Noodle Soup looks good – i wonder if you can ask for duck on the side?
Are they offering the full menu even during this (covid) time? The breakfast menu is nice and extensive! And cheap!
Welcome! It appeared you can order the full menu at the counter. I didn’t try ordering duck on the side but it should not be a problem. I will probably get a whole duck in a week or two as Noble Chef is closed now. 🙁
