I love North Park with it’s cute Craftsman houses. I lived here from kindergarten through 3rd grade. My mom took my walking throughout the neighborhood. There were many cool local shops. A few blocks down 30th ST was a fabric store my mom would buy fabrics to sew shirts for me. Around where Solomon Bagels & Donuts is now located was an awesome hobby shop with model rockets and remote control planes. We could not afford to buy anything inside the hobby shop back then. I have a job now so I went inside Solomon Bagels & Donuts and bought a bunch of goodies.
Butter croissant had a thin crunchy outer layer and soft inside full of buttery flavor. Love the flavor and texture.
Cherry topped glazed. I like real cherries and maraschino cherries. This cherry glaze is very sweet and has an artificial cherry flavor I don’t like. I tried scraping the glaze off but I that didn’t work as there must have been glaze remnants in my mouth.
Apple fritter had crunchy bits on the outside and a good amount of sweet apple filling on the inside.
I liked the combination of sugar glaze, donut, and apple.
Berry bagel had a fresh aroma and a delicious berry flavor. I’m not a serious bagel person but I do find Costco bagels ok, Einstein Bros bagels pretty good, Solomon and Donut Touch bagels are my favorites.
2nd visit.
Glazed donut was a fluffy yeast based donut. Nice balance between the fried dough flavor and the sugary glaze. On the lower end of the scale for sweetness which I appreciate. I could eat a few of these before getting a sugar overload.
Sesame seed bagel had a delicious fresh sesame flavor.
Cinnamon raisin bagel had a mix of cinnamon and raisin flavor. Nice sweet flavor.
After 2 visits the bagels are my favorite in town while the donuts and croissant are in my top 10.
Inside the decor is clean and modern. Employees were nice and kept the line moving efficiently. Much has changed since my mom walked with me down these streets. It’s nice there are great new local businesses to replace those that came before.
Thanks to my Yelp friend Joy B. for pointing this place out.
They do have good bagels! Soft, fluffy freshness makes it easy to eat without toasting.
That’s cool you like them too!
I’ve been wondering about this place! You don’t like your bagels toasted with any toppings (cream cheese, butter, or lox)? I just went to Einstein’s today to get bakers dozen for only $7 🙂
I love my bagels plain. They have a bakers dozen at Solomon Bagels for $8.99 you can get any day and you will support a local business.
I like that the bagels here are ‘smaller’ (like at PL Bagel) and, again, a local business. Good to see Solomon has lasted through the pandemic. I will return to try a donut (or two).
Try the glazed donut. I loved it.
