There are many taco shops on Miramar Road.

I decided to try some of them and I noticed Soto’s Mexican Food.

Carnitas taco was stuffed full of tender juicy pork. Nice char and delicious flavor from the pork. Tortillas added a mild corn flavor and I liked the soft texture which wasn’t dry.

When ordering adobada tacos I’m always hoping for adobada like at TJ Tacos that are bursting with savory flavor. Usually I’m disappointed. Soto’s adobada had a bit of heat and a bit of a bitter flavor I didn’t like. The search goes on.

2nd visit. Beef taco had a crunchy shell with a nice corn tortilla flavor.

Beef had a mild flavor. I would have liked a higher beef to tortilla ratio.

Chicken taco had a crunchy shell with a nice corn tortilla flavor. Mild flavored chicken was good.

3rd visit. Beef taquitos had a crunchy shell with mild flavored shredded beef. Would have liked a higher beef to tortilla ratio as I was tasting mostly fried corn tortilla. El Indio remains my favorite spot for this dish.

Carne asada taco had lots of tender nicely marinated beef. Pretty good taco but I prefer the flavor of the carne asada at Rigoberto’s Taco shop up the street.
