Hot. Intoxicating oily scent in the air. Satisfying crunch in my mouth. Delicious potato flavor excites my senses. Crinkle cut fries are excellent.
I don’t like spicy food so I was wavering between getting the naked or the mild version of the fried chicken. I picked mild as I found naked means no seasoning.
Loved the crispy texture of the crunchy batter and the skin. Chicken was tender and juicy. As for the flavor the batter was heavily seasoned with some sweetness and a bit of spiciness. For me that flavor was ok. I think I’d like a very mild option with half the amount of seasoning.
One of my favorite places to eat fried chicken is Howlin Rays. They have a country option where they season the batter with salt and pepper and there is no heat. I was hoping Main Chick Hot Chicken would be like Howlin Rays and there would be delicious options for those not interested in heat. No such luck.
If you want heat this might be the spot for you.
I have been to this spot in the past when it was Lightning Jack’s BBQ. The nearby theater was pretty good too. Hope they reopen.

They are heavy handed with their spices. Maybe they will decide to use salt and pepper on their naked version.
The employee I questioned indicated naked is fully naked.
