Back in the day I had lunch with Phel Steinmetz at this mall. Now closed Fins Mexican Eatery was his favorite spot. Much has changed.
They have built a huge new parking structure as well as a trolley stop.
I came by to try newly opened Padadak Korean Chicken.
Crinkle cut fries had a crispy outside layer and delicious fluffy potato inner layer.
Small order of wings crunchy fried style was very filling as the crunchy batter was the thickest I’ve had. I liked the flavor of the batter but it was too much batter for me. The little wings were overwhelmed by the batter.
2nd visit I tried the gold sparkling flavor on the small order of drumsticks. First thing I noticed was a parmesan cheese like odor. I took a bite and confirmed my suspicion. Nasty flavor was very strong and blotted out the normally delicious fried chicken flavor. I tried to scrape off the gold sparkling seasoning but it was futile as it was glued tight to the batter. Removing the batter was my only option. It did reveal the chicken had a slightly salty flavor.
Using a good amount of toothpaste I was able to get the nasty cheese flavor out of my mouth. Good thing I was eating at home. Wish they had a description of what the gold sparkling flavor was as I would never have ordered it had I known what it was.
It would be nice to know the ingredients in the drumstick seasoning, besides the cheese. It had a very distinct unpleasant odor to it. Sounds like their French fries were the best thing you ate.
Yes they make very good tasting fries.
I passed by this place during holiday shopping and was curious about it! Haven’t left the house in 2021 other than doctor visits so good to know I’m not missing out on much. Wish we still had BBQ Chicken in convoy with their olive oil fried chicken =\
BBQ Chicken was great! Cross St. is currently my fav fried chicken spot. Jollibee is pretty good and close to you.
