I wonder if one of the Benihana chef’s escaped onto Bachi Bus.
Menu is similar.
I visited after the bus had moved to Morena Blvd. I read they had started on Grape St. I ordered lobster and filet with chicken fried rice. Kind chef noticed I was walking around taking photos and invited me in to take photos.
Nice compact operation inside.
Loved the flavor of the fresh tender lobster. Filet was amazingly tender and full of beefy flavor. Nice char and cooked just the way I like it. Fried rice had a nice garlic butter flavor. Chicken breast was tender and added a nice flavor to the rice. Zucchini was soft and well marinated.
2nd visit I tried the shrimp and lobster combo with chicken fried rice. Lobster had a fresh delicious flavor. Shrimp was tender and had fresh delicious flavor. Chicken fried rice had a nice mild flavor.
Bachi Bus dishes have some similarities to Benihana. The seasonings and sauces are different though. Bachi Bus dishes taste a bit spicier. I needed 2 cans of sparkling water to go with my lunch. I prefer Bachi Bus lobster but I prefer Benihana’s chicken fried rice. Prices are lower here. I talked with the manager and found out the head chef worked for Benihana before working for Bachi Bus. Bachi Bus is great when you want Teppanyaki but don’t have a few hours free for dinner and a show.

How cool is this!! I love Benihana chicken fried rice. You should try Shogun as they have an awesome lunch teppanyaki menu. Gosh, we went to Shogun months ago for dinner and they set up portable teppan tables (i have to blog about this sometimes).
The trio plate $44.50(!) at this bus is pricey – but glad you really enjoyed the food here
Hi Faye! I have tried Shogun. They are good. We usually go to Benihana as it’s been a tradition to celebrate our birthdays there. Bachi Bus has some great tasting lobster.
