This garden never ceases to amaze me! Always something wondrous to behold.
This beautiful park is located across the street from the Natural History Museum and the Rueben H. Fleet Science Center. A convenient bridge is located near the NHM.
This garden includes over 130 varieties of approximately 1,600 roses! Now I know why I can never finish walking through the gardens in just one day! The volunteers that help care for the roses are from the Balboa Park Rose Garden Corps. I must say they do an excellent job.
In 2014 this garden became part of the Great Rosarians World Hall of Fame. I’m not surprised in the least this place is fabulous!
While admiring my favorite color roses I found a sign near the peach colored section called Rosie the Riveter. I was curious about this and did some researching. To honor and commemorate the women who made history on the Home Front during WWII: A rose was created and grown in gardens throughout the United States. I’m sure my grandmother who earned ribbons for her front yard flowers would approve.
And just when you thought this was the last picture, surely you jest.
Wow! You got some great photos!
Thanks! It helps when my hand does not shake.
