Buckboard’s Barbeque and Brew

There are a bunch of 2 story apartments around here.  I remember days of old living in various apartments like these and playing outside watching the cars go by.

Buckboard’s Barbeque and Brew is an interesting mix of old and new.  Solar panels line the roof.  Rusted corrugated metal lines the front facade.

Inside is an ancient cash register.

I caught a glimpse of the grill master grilling meat over red oak in a secret area of the parking lot.  I am a big fan of Santa Maria style bbq.

Onion rings were breaded in panko breading then fried.  Rings were crunchy and the flavor was a mix of fried batter and onion.  I liked them but I prefer beer battered rings.

Full rack of baby back ribs was more than I could eat.  Pork was fall off your bone tender and moist.  Flavor was very sweet.  I got the sweet bbq sauce and I loved the sweet flavor.  I enjoyed the ribs but I would have preferred the ribs just dry rubbed so I could have more control of the sweetness by applying the sauce myself.

Peach cobbler had a crunchy, flaky crust, and sweet mix of peaches and apple filling.  Very tasty dessert.

2nd visit: “Dubba” fried wings were smoked then fried.  Chicken had a nice smoky flavor while the battered skin was crunchy and full of fried flavor.  Unique mix of flavors.

Beef ribs were fall off the bone tender and full of red oak smoked flavor.  Sweet sauce was a delicious addition.  My favorite dish here.

Buckboard’s has some great tasting bbq.
