The sky was clearer and brighter than anywhere else I have been. The food bursting with exotic flavors. I miss Hawaii.
Now it looks like I have a chance to eat Hawaiian food again at Island Life Foods. I was wandering the Ocean Beach Farmers Market looking for a place to eat when the scent of bbq drew me here.
Scent of meat cooking on the grill was irresistible.
I ordered the Da I.G. Plate. I watched as my dinner was grilled.
Rice was moist and had what tasted like huli huli sauce drizzled on. Love the flavors from the mild tasting rice and the sweet sauce. Chicken was tender and the huli huli sauce gave a sweet and tangy flavor. Seared tri tip was tender and full beefy flavor while the sauce added sweet and tangy flavors. Puleahu pork ribs were tender and full of flavor. I miss the delicious plate lunches I had in Maui. Island Life Foods plate lunch was fresh off the grill and bursting with delicious flavors just like I remember. Service was friendly and speedy. I’ll be visiting the Ocean Beach Farmers Market again to eat more delicious Hawaiian food.

Everything looks delicious! Lovely sunset picture!
Thanks! It’s from our Oahu trip.
What a plate of meat! I’ve been wanting to try the poke at this place. The poke near me (Poke Etc.) is passable but not great, and the place I do love (Hawaiian Fresh Seafood) is quite a bit out of the way for me (Sorrento Valley).
Give them a try Joy! The Farmers Market is really cool too.
