Edgewater Grill

I was walking around Seaport Village looking for a place to eat on a weekend.  Most places had a long line.  The wait at Edgewater Grill didn’t sound too bad.

I ordered the carne asada skillet.  There was a bit of a wait for the food.  I’m guessing my skillet was sitting around for a while as normally this type of dish is very hot and you are warned to be careful.  I didn’t get a warning as the food was just warm.  Scrambled eggs had some chipotle sauce on them.  I removed it and added salt.  Eggs were fluffy and tasted ok.  Potatoes were crispy on the outside and had a nice potato flavor.  Steak was dry and I didn’t care for the flavor which was mostly salty.

Very good view of the bay.  Service was slow with a 20 minute wait to sit inside and 30 minute wait to sit outside.  Server was nice but overworked.  I prefer making my own breakfast so I can get it hot and fresh.

  1. Nice pictures! Yes I think they need more staff at this place. After such a long wait it’s disappointing to receive mediocre food.

  2. I didn’t realize that there were dining places open in Seaport Village open right now. I know it’s being re-developed into that new shop/live complex on the bay. If you are looking for a great breakfast in downtown I’d suggest Richard Walker’s Pancake House, but the wait there can be pretty ridiculous.

    1. Most places are open. They haven’t started construction yet. They are opening a new cajun spot that looks interesting: https://seaportvillage.com/casual-dining/louisiana-charlies/

      Thanks for the tip!
