I was walking around Seaport Village looking for a place to eat on a weekend. Most places had a long line. The wait at Edgewater Grill didn’t sound too bad.
I ordered the carne asada skillet. There was a bit of a wait for the food. I’m guessing my skillet was sitting around for a while as normally this type of dish is very hot and you are warned to be careful. I didn’t get a warning as the food was just warm. Scrambled eggs had some chipotle sauce on them. I removed it and added salt. Eggs were fluffy and tasted ok. Potatoes were crispy on the outside and had a nice potato flavor. Steak was dry and I didn’t care for the flavor which was mostly salty.
Very good view of the bay. Service was slow with a 20 minute wait to sit inside and 30 minute wait to sit outside. Server was nice but overworked. I prefer making my own breakfast so I can get it hot and fresh.

Nice pictures! Yes I think they need more staff at this place. After such a long wait it’s disappointing to receive mediocre food.
Next time we should just go to our favorite spot: https://www.hungryones.com/2016/08/sallys-seafood-on-the-water/
I didn’t realize that there were dining places open in Seaport Village open right now. I know it’s being re-developed into that new shop/live complex on the bay. If you are looking for a great breakfast in downtown I’d suggest Richard Walker’s Pancake House, but the wait there can be pretty ridiculous.
Most places are open. They haven’t started construction yet. They are opening a new cajun spot that looks interesting: https://seaportvillage.com/casual-dining/louisiana-charlies/
Thanks for the tip!
