Glance to the side of the highway and see the businesses that come and go. I remember Cape Town ,Sarap Filipino Kitchen, Gaya Gaya, and Boss Bird. Now the sign says Kusina.
I visited for the soft opening with a limited menu.
Lumpia had a thin crunchy outer layer and pork and veggie filling. Loved the mix of textures from crunchy to soft. Mix of flavors from the fried wrapper and the filling was delicious.
Lechon kawali had a mix of textures from the crunchy skin to the almost liquid fat layer to the tender meat. Most places over fry the pork and the skin and meat gets dry and hard. Kusina cooks it perfectly so while the skin is crunchy it’s not hard as a rock and the meat is still juicy. Villa Manilla is my fav spot for this type of food but Kusina has some great tasting dishes and I look forward to when they are fully open with their full menu.
Glance to the side of the highway and see Kusina.

Been here a couple of times Soo with mixed results.
I look forward to reading your review.
This has to be such a hard area to survive in, especially now with all the remote work. Real estate is probably cheaper but without as much foot traffic I hope these businesses do well. It was already hard enough pre-pandemic, as per the list of previous tenants that have cycled through.
It’s a huge space. Rent must be pretty high. Hope they survive as I enjoy their food.
Hopefully this restaurant will prevail where others have not. You know what they say the three most important things in real estate are; Location, Location, Location. Definitely applies here.
The food was great when I visited.
