The food court inside Zion is constantly changing. Now you can get Korean twisted donuts. Donuts are made to order and take about 5 minutes. I ordered the cinnamon sugar and the sugar donuts.
After they were cooked I watched the lady at the counter pour sugar on top. Texture was like a yeast donut mixed with brioche bread.
Flavor of the dough was a bit like a yeast based donut. Sugar twist was a mix of sweetness and fried dough. This was my favorite donut. Cinnamon twist was sweet with a blast of cinnamon. Good but a bit more cinnamon than I prefer. I love how fresh the donuts are. Server was nice and quick.
Thanks to Cathy of mmm-yoso!!! for pointing this place out to me.

That’s great Cathy found a tasty donut place you like!
Cathy is cool.
Yum! I’ll make a stop next time I do a sushi run at Zion. These look and sound similar to Italian donuts (zeppole).
Is there a good local spot to get Italian donuts?
In San Diego I’ve seen these (zeppole) at restaurants as a dessert but in that case they’re amp’d up and not the ordinary type of simple donut you’d find in any bakery (pasticceria) in Italy. When it comes to Italian dolci (or pastries) San Diego covers gelato but not much else.
Bummer. It would be nice to try one.
Great post, Soo! Still want to try the savory items on the menu-fresh fried, made to order; it’s County Fair Food available daily! The Food Court at Zion is wonderful.
Thanks Cathy! I’ll have to visit the Food Court more.
