I love biking. I got my start when I was 3 and I patrolled the sidewalk in front of our laundry. I was one with the wind on my Radio Flyer tricycle.
Currently I’m riding a Specialized Crosstrail. Love the front shock and 700x38mm tires which help smooth out the bumpy roads. There is something I haven’t gotten around to upgrading.
My bike pedals have metal spikes to grip the bottom of my shoe. Unfortunately the spikes occasionally pierce my shin when I stop and need to back up on my bike. After an internet search I found Look makes a Geo City pedal which doesn’t have spikes and was well reviewed. I found XL Velo was the nearest dealer. Dan at XL Velo didn’t have them in stock but could order and install them for me.
A couple weeks later I brought my bike to XL Velo and Dan installed them for me. Real nice guy and very knowledgeable about bikes, music, and The Sandman.
Pedals are working great. The high quality bearings result in smooth cranking.
The new pedals have whacked my shin but the soft rubber just bounced off and no damage was done. I have not had any problems with my shoes slipping.
Dan provided excellent service and if I need any further upgrades I wouldn’t hesitate to visit XL Velo.
