9500 East Via De Ventura. Scottsdale, AZ 85256
This place is located in the same circular pavilion as the Odysea Aquarium and other food service businesses. The parking lot is large with many handicapped spaces.
Upon arriving we stood in the ticket line outside. If possible I recommend purchasing your tickets online before arriving. Especially if it’s during the hot summer months.
They do a beautiful job of explaining the butterfly transformation process to all who enter. They have an indoor movie theatre depicting the Monarch butterfly’s incredible journey across the globe. Afterwards you are directed into an area with numerous separate glass habitat’s filled with dozens of chrysalis and newly emerged butterflies.
Once you’ve had your fill of inspecting butterflies the next room leads to the arboretum filled with various tree’s, plants, shrubs and yes more butterflies! This was by far my favorite part, following my granddaughter’s along as they inspected each winged beauty. They even have an enclosed area just for bees.
The next section leads you past the food area then into the individual aquarium habitats & reptiles. The fish were just as curious about us, which I found a bit surprising. My favorite reptile was the chameleon. Such deliberate movements with incredible colors.
If your in the area and have a chance to stop by or just want to educate yourself or your kids about butterflies, then this is the place to go!
Here are the prices as of July 2022: Adults $25.95, Children (Ages 2 -12) $18.95. They do offer annual memberships and package deals with other attractions.
