I remember this beach and pier from the days of my youth. Tide pools to the left contain all manner of life from the sea. Sand to the right provided hours of entertainment.
Being a block from the beach the chances of getting a good parking spot is minimal.
The view of the Ocean Beach Pier and the ocean however is amazing.
Wonderland Pub was busy at 12:30pm on a Sunday.
I ordered the beef short ribs. Flavor was very good with a bit of sweetness from the marinade. What wasn’t that good was the amount of char. I like a little char on the edge but a few of the pieces were char’d throughout. Some pieces were nice and tender while others were crunchy. Rice was moist and I enjoyed the light flavor.
Service was good. Hostess and waitress were friendly.
2nd visit I tried the fish and chips. They use fresh wild caught Alaskan cod.
Fish was tender, delicate, and had a nice mild flavor. Beer batter added a salty flavor and was crunchy. Very good quality fish fried perfectly. Fries were crispy and had a nice potato flavor.
Mud pie was frozen solid just the way I like it. Love the mix of flavors from the crunchy crust and the coffee ice cream and the sweet whipped cream.
Wonderland Ocean Pub has some great tasting food. Gorgeous view and scent of sea air has a hint of nostalgia.
The Boys of Summer – Don Henley
I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin’ in the sun
You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone
Your brown skin shinin’ in the sun
You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

Nice pictures! Love that mermaid! The Don Henley song brings back memories of my 1970 something green mercury.
Thanks! I’d like to see that 1970 Mercury.
Yum! I’d enjoy either dish, but those ribs do look overdone. 😢
The chef must have been off. 🙁
