When visiting Guadalupe I love stopping by the Dune’s Center.
The Dune Center has a permanent exhibit documenting Cecil. B. DeMille’s visit in 1923 to film The Ten Commandments. Afterwards the entire set was buried in the Dunes.
The current exhibit features sand from across the world.
It was amazing seeing how sand varies in texture and color depending on how it was created.
One of my favorites was Egyptian sand. It was dry, dusty, and there was the aura of age about it.
Young lady in charge was friendly and informative.
We are all stardust.

The sand exhibit was super cool. Hopefully they will have more samples next visit.
I look forward to seeing what they have next time.
Very interesting – I had no idea there was another version of the The Ten Commandments beyond the one from the ’50’s with Charlton Heston!
I learned alot at the Dunes Center. 🙂
