You can smell it from the parking lot. The sweet scent of Santa Maria bbq. I arrived at 5pm and there was a big dinner crowd waiting to get in. Looks like reservations are in order for the next dinner here. Server was friendly and kept my soda water refilled.
I split a full rack of baby back ribs with my kid. The dinner make for a huge meal as you get a soup or salad, garlic bread, beans, and a side. For the side we split an order of rings and fries. Fries were the big steak fries similar to ones I’ve had at Red Robin. I like the crispy outside and fluffy inside. Delicious. Onion rings had a very crunchy panko batter which also reminded me of Red Robin onion rings. I liked the fried onion flavor but the rings seemed a bit over fried as batter was pretty hard.
Ribs had a delicious flavor and aroma from being grilled over red oak and seasoned with black pepper, salt, and garlic. They would have been perfect with a bit less time on the grill as these ribs were well done.
I love Santa Maria style bbq and The Swiss is one of my favorite spots to get it. The Hitching Post is another.

Nice pictures of the interior decor. That’s great you enjoyed your meal with Mari.
I need someone to eat my sides. 🙂
Yum! Looks and sounds great, I will have to try this one day.
The ribs were great. 🙂
