I could smell the burning red oak from outside Jocko’s. There was a line to get in at dinner time.
Inside it was dark like other expensive steakhouses. Host was friendly and helpful.
Complimentary soda water was cold and refreshing.
Fries were crunchy with a delicious fried potato flavor.
4 bones beef rib plate was a ton of meat and I only ate 2 bones. Other 2 I saved for breakfast. Ribs were full of delicious smoky flavor from being grilled over red oak and seasoned with Santa Maria bbq seasonings. Cooked to medium they were moist and tender.
It appears they serve Thrifty’s ice cream here. I ordered the strawberry and it was creamy and full of strawberry flavor.
2nd visit I tried the Spencer which was the 20oz ribeye. Tender and juicy. Loved the Santa Maria seasoning along with the smoky flavor. Good steak but I prefer Fleming’s prime ribeye which has a better char.
This time I ordered the mint chocolate chip and I loved the mix of mint and chocolate chip flavors.
I’m a huge fan of Santa Maria bbq and loved the beef ribs. Next time I’ll have to try the pork ribs.

It was fun hanging out with Mari.
Yup.
Ribs for breakfast sounds like a good idea, glad the portions here are so large that that is an option for the next morning lol!
The sides here are huge. I hated wasting the fries but I won’t eat them the next day.
