After a day trip to Julian to get fresh apple pie we drive through Julian on the way home. One day we stopped at Valencia’s Crem De La Crem. Building appears weathered by the years. Inside was clean and colorful. The lone employee was friendly and told me their ice cream was made in the back.
There are many flavors to choose from. In addition to cones you can buy pints or quarts to go.
Strawberry was creamy and strawberry flavor a bit like Thrifty’s. Interesting fluorescent pink color. I liked the strawberry bits in the ice cream.
Vanilla was rich and creamy with Mexican vanilla flavor. Loved the unique vanilla flavor.
Pina colada was a mix of pineapple and coconut flavor. Like this flavor alot.
I love the floral scent from roses. Rose petals ice cream had that rose scent I love and was creamy with a strong rose flavor. My favorite flavor here.
Mango was fresh and fruity bursting with mango flavor. Was like eating a fresh ripe mango.
Lavender paleta looked like a popsicle but it was actually an ice cream bar. Rich and creamy with a sweet lavender flavor. Loved this treat.
Lemonade shave ice was very different from Hawaiian shave ice. Here you get big pieces of crunchy ice instead of the fluffy stuff. I liked the flavor of the lemonade syrup but I got a bit much and it was sweeter than I prefer.
I loved stopping at Valencia’s Crem De La Crem for ice cream but sadly they are closing on December 10. Their ice creams are all rich and creamy with many delicious flavors. I have to visit one last time to stock up on my favorite flavors.

Sad to see them close. Hopefully they will find another way to sell their ice cream.
Maybe someone will take over the business…
Very cool little place, sad to see it closing. A bit like Niederfrank’s Ice Cream but in east county!
Yes. How is the parking over there? I haven’t been since they put up the food hall.
It depends on the day/time but it can be challenging. I’m not sure how the food stalls are doing (there’s already been a fair amount of turnover) but I think lots of people go there to drink.
I miss the old days when you could just drive up and grab a couple half gallons to go. Didn’t make sense to me to put in a fancy food hall without any parking.
