I don’t eat in Pacific Beach that much as it’s often tricky finding parking.
Broken Yolk fixed that problem with 2 good size parking lots. I visited for Yelp Elite week.
Lots of choices on the menu. I opted for the Sweet Trio.
Tiki Toast was grilled King’s Hawaiian bread with coconut, caramel drizzle, and powdered sugar. I love plain King’s Hawaiian bread and having it grilled was interesting. Instead of it being soft and fluffy throughout there was a thin crispy outer layer. There was some coconut flavor and a bunch of sweet flavors from the drizzle and powdered sugar. Very good tasting treat. I would have liked it plain just was much.
Crunchy French Toast was thick bread rolled in frosted flakes. Nice and crunchy. Loved the toast. Raspberry drizzle added a sweet raspberry flavor. Powdered sugar added sweetness. Another very good tasting treat.
Cinna cake looked like a pancake with cream cheese based icing on it. Loved the flavor of the pancake. I would order it without the icing as I prefer less sweetness. Very good tasting treat.
Orange juice had a small amount of pulp and was full of orange flavor.
I added a side order of link sausage so my meal wasn’t 100% carbs. Sausage was tender and fully of savory flavor.
Service was excellent. Thanks to Broken Yolk and Yelp CM Hannah for the event! Nice to see Broken Yolk is adding more choices to their menu.

Lot’s of breakfast choices! Any of the omelette or skillet entree’s sound wonderful. Glad to hear they have more parking!
Next time I think I’ll go for the classic eggs and bacon.
I didn’t realize their menu was so large. In all my years in San Diego I still haven’t visited one of these cafes. There’s one in the South Bay that has droves of people waiting outside every weekend.
They are pretty good for those times you don’t wanna cook your own breakfast. When it’s really hot or cold I don’t wanna have the doors and windows open for a few hours getting rid of the cooking smells.
