I grew up eating tacos at El Indio and the various Roberto’s and offshoots. I was excited to try a craft taco.
Sova invited Yelpers to try a taco and a drink. I chose a dorado taco. There was an option for battered or blackened. I picked battered.
All tacos come on a handmade blue corn tortilla. Loved the light corn flavor. Crunchy beer batter gave the dorado a tasty fried flavor.
Dorado was tender, flaky, and moist. This is one of my favorite fish tacos.
Sidral Mundet apple soda was bubbly and had a sweet apple flavor. Very tasty and reminds me of Martinelli’s apple cider.
I was still hungry after one taco so I bought a 2nd one.
This time I ordered the New York steak taco. Steak was a thin strip and marinated with various spices. Very tender and full of flavor. One of my fav steak tacos ever.
Sova is cool, clean, modern looking establishment. Interesting location in an industrial area.
Thanks to Yelp CM Hannah and Sova for introducing me to Sova’s craft tacos. They are much better than the taco’s I grew up with. Owner Gabriel and staff provided excellent hospitality and answered all my questions.

Looks like a tasty menu. That’s great you liked your tacos!
Yes. You would like the dorada taco too!
Yum! Reminds me of Puesto on the high end and Lola55 which is a similar concept — high-quality, interesting combinations, and higher price points than ‘typical’ Mexican fare. I will have to give this a try when I’m up north!
I loved the flavor of the meats in Puesto’s tacos but the last few times I visited the meat to tortilla ratio was poor and the tacos were expensive.
it’s also right next to new english brewery, so you can have a good beer and a taco at the same time!
That is fortuitous!
