I first saw the The Flower Fields from afar driving to Costco.
They had an American flag formed from flowers. Lovely.
The first time we went inside and saw the flowers up close was for a Yelp event. The Ranunculus were beautiful.
The Flower Fields features 55 acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus. The season starts March 1. There are multiple fields and the northern most ones bloom first. As the season progresses the blooming flowers move southward till the southern most field blooms at the close of the season May 12.
Our first visit of the season the northern most field was starting to bloom. There were so many different colors and the flowers were so beautiful we took tons of photos and decided to apply our admission towards a season pass.
There are various snacks available.
I loved the Dole Whip which was ice cold and had a delicious sweet pineapple flavor.
Cotton candy was sweet and fluffy reminding me of going to the fair when I was a kid. The kettle corn was freshly popped and had a mix of sweet and salty flavors.
It was amazing each time we visited. A different field was in bloom. You can see the fields where green shoots are just starting to emerge from the ground.
In addition to the Giant Tecolote Ranunculus there was also an poinsettia exhibit which documents how the Ecke family spread poinsettias across the world.
You can get lost in a sweet pea maze.
There is an orchid building.
On our last visit there was a sunflower field.
There was a tractor wagon ride that went around the fields in case you weren’t up for the walk.
One of the best days of our lives was sitting on a bench looking at the flowers while the sun set into the ocean as the sea breeze mingled with the scent of fresh flowers.

I’m looking forward to returning this year!
We should go next weekend!
Such a lovely place, I too remember seeing it from the freeway a long time ago and then finally ventured there in person and have returned many times since. I’m excited for the season to start soon!
That’s great you have visited too. It’s open now!
