Zhengxin Chicken Steak opens at 12pm but it’s unlikely you will find a parking spot at that time. I visited at 2pm and there were only 2 spots free.
Bbq chicken wings is what the menu indicated. The cashier told me they were fried.
You get a small bag full. Loved the crunchy batter which had a nice mild flavor.
I didn’t like the seasoning which gave a bit of heat and a bit of a bitter flavor. Appeared to be cayenne pepper.
Fried fish fillet sticks looked like big french fries. I liked the texture of the batter which was crunchy. Flavor reminded me of frozen fried cod fillets from the supermarket.
Also it was mostly batter and not much fish in the sticks.
Drumstick had crunchy batter which I liked. Sadly it looked like the cook cut into the chicken and let all the juices escape with the result being dry chicken. Also there was more cayenne pepper used which gave the drumstick a very bitter flavor.
The cashier was nice. Food came out quickly.
I asked for a plate to eat on and was given a big plastic tray. I would have liked the chicken wings if there was a no cayenne pepper option.
I found out about Zhengxin from Kirk on mmm-yoso!!!

Looks like everything on the menu is fried. The artwork on their bags is super cute.
Yes. It’s part of the name.
We’re more in tuned with the skewers Soo. I think they use Sichuan Chili Pepper Powder – la jiao fen, which is actually milder than dried red Italian Chilies. Thanks for the link!
You are welcome! It’s too bad you can’t order the chicken with the pepper powder on the side. I don’t like my food spicy.
