Scent of burning red oak billows out of the smoker on the patio.
I don’t trust the bbq at places you can’t smell the smoke.
You order and pay inside the little house.
There is seating in the front yard, backyard, and adjacent house.
Pork ribs were tender, moist, and had a smoky flavor. Sauce added sweetness and more smoky flavor. Normally I don’t like sauce but Banks Bbq has some delicious sauce with a bit of sweetness and smoky flavor.
I thanked the owner Terell Bankhead on the delicious bbq and he showed me his red oak and smokers out on his patio.
He gave me a sample oxtail which was tender and juicy. Flavor was a bit smoky and salty. Very good.
Staff was friendly and got my order out quick. Terell Bankhead was an excellent host and pitmaster.
2nd visit I started with some pulled pork. Extremely tender and juicy. Loved the smoky pork flavor.
Then I ordered some pork ribs. Ribs were tender and full of smoky flavor. There was a hint of sweetness. Tasted like the ribs were basted with Terell’s sweet bbq sauce. My favorite menu item so far.
I also tried a beef rib. Looked a little like the beef ribs I bought at Food 4 Less. This rib was more tender and meaty. Loved the smoky flavor with a hint of sweetness.
One of the things I love about Banks The Butcher Bbq is how there is something different to try each visit. Another cool thing is the prices are affordable. It was $12 for the pork ribs and $8 for the pulled pork.
The coolest thing is how friendly the other customers are. Each visit other customers talked with me about the great bbq. Feels like home.
And I thank you for bringing me here
For showing me home, for singing these tears
Finally, I’ve found that I belong
