Harvey’s

Harvey’s is located on the corner of an apartment complex with a few retail businesses.  There were a few parking spots but they were all taken.  Across the street is a mall with lots of parking and lots of signs stating outside parking is not allowed.  Back in the old days I remember seeing a stream of tow trucks scoring illegally parked cars during Charger games.

I ordered the catfish plate for $24.  You get half a catfish encased in a thick cornmeal batter.  The catfish was excellent quality being moist and flaky.  The batter was hard, crunchy, and too thick for my taste.

The excess batter detracted from the great tasting catfish.  Felix’s Bbq does a much better job on this dish with a lighter batter which accentuates the flavor of the catfish.

Fries had a thin crunchy batter and had a delicious fried potato flavor.

Soda water was cold and refreshing.

Service was ok.  Looked like they were getting ready for an event so that was what they were focused on.

  1. Would you go back again?

    1. If I was nearby and hungry I would try something else on the menu.
