Apache Junction is where the Apache Trail begins and ends. Apache Indians used this trail to travel through the Superstition Mountains. Maggie’s son took us out for lunch at Lotus Garden in a quiet strip mall.

I think I watched all the episodes of The Flintstone’s when I was a kid. It was cool seeing humans and dinosaurs in hilarious adventures. I was surprised to see Fred’s Diner on the way to the Grand Canyon.

There is a sense of age here. Rocks at the bottom are 2000 million years old while the top layer is only 270 million years old. Different layers of the canyon reflect different colors. The effect is lovely.
