Saigon 5 is located in the mini food court inside Ranch 99. I shop at Ranch 99 often but I rarely eat in the food court. I was curious as to how the food was as it’s generally quiet throughout the store.

Golden City Restaurant

Golden City is one of the places we like to go to celebrate things like birthdays. The menu has a lot of delicious options. The family tried to make me feel guilty when the waitress brought out the live lobster for approval before cooking. It was my birthday celebration though and I wanted some lobster […]
Imperial Mandarin

I can’t stay away from this place. So many tasty items on the menu. Steamed cha siu bao is what I long for the most. Chunks of bbq pork with sweet notes and 5 spice powder flavor surrounded by a slightly sweet pastry combine into something incredibly delicious. You can only get them for lunch. […]
Inchin’s Bamboo Garden

I visited a few times in the old days when Mandarin Garden was here. I didn’t like the flavors of the food and stopped visiting. Inchin’s Bamboo Garden looks nothing like Mandarin Garden. They did a lovely remodel.
Del Mar Rendezvous

So many years I’ve eaten here. So many delicious dishes. These are the most recent. BBQ Pork ribs were tender with a flavor a bit like char sui. I liked the hint of sweetness with 5 spice powder flavor.
Dumpling Inn

Flames heat iron wok Noodles char on hot metal Smoky aroma. I remember when this mall was built and Woo Chee Chong was the anchor tenant. My uncle was the executive chef.
Hon’s Wun Tun House – San Francisco

I love walking down the streets of Chinatown. Streets are filled with unique shops and there is a feeling of a previous age living on here. So different than the mall by where I live where they ripped out the few trees and old buildings to create a colossal parking structure and gleaming new shops. […]
Fung Fung Yuen

I visited this building a few times a year whenever Hometown Buffet mailed me a good coupon. The lines were long when it first opened. I miss the fried chicken from Hometown Buffet. It’s alot fancier now they have transformed into Fung Fung Yuen. I came with the family and lots of dishes were ordered.
