I remember this beach and pier from the days of my youth. Tide pools to the left contain all manner of life from the sea. Sand to the right provided hours of entertainment.

The Butchery
One Paseo has some great places to eat. The Butchery is one of my favorites. Line is long at lunch time but the staff keeps it moving.
Edelweiss Bakery
I remember Edelweiss Bakery and Miller’s Outpost in the early days of Mira Mesa Mall. Sometimes after high school got out I’d walk through the mall. Once in a while I’d get a treat. For a while the mall was rundown and some businesses left like Edelweiss Bakery which relocated to Rancho Bernardo.
Pelicana Chicken
It wasn’t so long ago I was eating chicken wings here and the place was called Urban Eats. The chicken wings were not that good but the beef short ribs were delicious. Now there is a big Pelicana Chicken sign outside.
Yelp San Diego’s Fright at the Museum
One of the things I look forward to each year is the Yelp Halloween party. You never know which Yelp friends you will see. This year I saw old Yelp CM’s Brad and Trish as well as Mia, Vin, Karen, Cesar, and Marilyn.
