On my way to or from Mira Mesa I passed by this building many a time. Before Tony’s I remember it being MXN. I wondered what the food was like. I have found some good places on Miramar Road like Seaside Buffet, Chin’s, and LouZiana Food.

Letty’s Casita – El Centro
Letty’s looks like the houses I use to live near when I was a kid. Nice roomy inside with a big yard in the front. Much more spacious than the tiny apartments we lived in. I like the scents inside. I try a carne asada taco first. Corn tortilla is freshly made in the […]
Tu Taco Taco Shop
I venture out to the southern edge of the country in search of tacos. I remember my mom use to visit one of her friends out here. It was quiet and there was lots of open space. Now it’s quiet and there is abundant parking in this strip mall. This is another of […]
La Perla #2 – Grand Av.
I use to see lots of strip malls like this in the 70’s. I visited this particular one many times in hopes of getting a donut next door but the donut shop is always closed when I came by. Now La Perla #2 is tempting me with tacos.

Painting from nature is not copying the object; it is realizing one’s sensations. Paul Cezanne
The South Park Abbey
I was greeted by a strange sight on my Taco Tuesday visit. In addition to the $2 taco signs there were also order at the bar signs at most of the tables.
Rudy’s Taco Shop
I see the sea. Scent of sea salt is in the air. I feel the sand beneath my feet. This was one of my fav spots for getting tacos after a drive along the coast with my kid. I remember in the old days this place was mostly a small grocery store with lots of Mexican […]

One of my favorite times of year is when summer starts and the Del Mar fair opens. So much delicious food waiting for […]
