Diamond Palace
I remember this mall. Fresh out of college I worked at K-Mart which is now half Burlington Coat Factory and half Northgate Market. I ate here back when this restaurant was Lucky Star. Food was similar to Convoy St dim sum restaurants. Now the place is called Diamond Palace.
Eastern Dynasty
Exciting to see a new Chinese restaurant in the same mall as where China Max was. I noticed they have bbq pork here and tried to order bbq pork pan fried noodles but the waiter would only let me order what was on the menu.
Ocean Beach Farmers Market
Ocean Beach Farmers Market is only a few blocks from the beach and the weather was lovely at the end of summer. I loved the variety of vendors.
Smokey’s Lake Wohlford Cafe
Birds are chirping. Frogs are croaking. An eagle is circling overhead. Scent of rain fills the air. Roar of thunder comes down the mountain. Lake Wohlford is a nice relaxing spot to get away from the city. I have passed by the lake many times on the way to Valley View Casino.

Fung Fung Yuen
I visited this building a few times a year whenever Hometown Buffet mailed me a good coupon. The lines were long when it first opened. I miss the fried chicken from Hometown Buffet. It’s alot fancier now they have transformed into Fung Fung Yuen. I came with the family and lots of dishes were ordered.
